First Week of Distance Learning for SS7 and ELA8 Wesley's Classes

Social Studies 7th grade:  On Schoology, is a folder titled, "Chapter 46 - Learning About World Religions - Islam."  In there, you will find assignments listed.  Every weekday, there is an assignment with two parts.  Part 1- Read and Complete the SSN Notes.  Part 2 - Complete a short review question.  If possible, students will be able to finish this chapter within two weeks.  They can certainly move at a faster pace if they wish, and they can turn in any assignment past the due date without penalty.  If anyone has difficulty with completing an assignment, their log-in, or anything else, please email me to get some support.

English Language Arts 8th Grade:On Schoology, is a folder titled, "Q3: The Giver Unit." In there, you will find online versions of the novel of The Giver, the workbook that we have been using in class, links to the audiobook, and directions for how to submit the workbook pages online.  Every weekday, students should try to complete an assignment that is posted.  Every assignment includes reading a chapter a day, and completing a short activity for that chapter. Students can certainly move at a faster pace if they wish, and they can turn in any assignment past the due date without penalty.  Some of the assignments on Schoology require them to log into other accounts, CommonLit, NoRedInk, that we have made in order to complete that assignment.  If anyone has difficulty with completing an assignment, their log-in, or anything else, please email me to get some support.

This week will present some challenges as we move into this first week away.  Please, let me know if there is anything that I can do to help, either by posting questions on the Discussion Board on Schoology, or email me directly.

Distance Learning

I am currently uploading assignments on Schoology, the website we use at WCS to support online curriculum.  As of now, none of the assignments are required as all students may not have home access.  I will grade assignments that students submit, but these assignments can only positively impact their grade.  Missing, incomplete, or incorrect assignments will not penalize or reduce their grade in any way.

All of my students have used Schoology throughout the year.  I will update this website to inform everyone about what is posted and any relevant information about class, as well as any other community supportive information that may be useful during this time away from the classroom.

Please check your email regularly.  If you have not done so, you can also follow the blog and get email updates when information here is updated, by clicking "Follow this Blog" to the right.

Feel free to email me with any concerns.
